CRM 2011 Accounts Security Issue RRS feed

  • Their is about 25 Sales Managers that I have setup in CRM 2011. I have security set on these Sales Managers so they cannot see each others accounts. I have no issues but for some reason their is a Sales Manager that can see another Sales Manager's accounts and thats it, the other Sales Manager can't see his. Both of the Sales Managers are in seperate BU, i even created a seperate BU and put the one that can see the accounts into that BU and he is still able to see them. I removed both Sales Managers from any teams they belonged too. I checked to see if the Account was shared out and it wasn't. I am lost on what to do. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

  • It sounds like the record owner has shared the records with the other user.

    You should have the owner unshared the records. This can only be done one record at a time and may take some time if he shared a lot of them.

  • The record is not shared out to anyone. I have checked myself, i got on his machine and it was not shared out.

    Has the records changed owner? There's a setting where you automatically share records to the previous owner in CRM. But if you checked that the accounts aren't shared, that shouldn't be the issue. They aren't part of some team that has higher security settings?

    Sounds weird.

  • Please check this.

    Security Level for Sales Manager on Account Entity should be on User Level (First level) in your case.

    If Rights is set to Organization level on Account for SM (Sales Manager) then one SM would be able to see the other's records.

    Please check this and let us know the same.
