Site being crawled but no search results - www.weddingshowpiece.com RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I used the submit url link to add the website http://www.weddingshowpiece. The website logs show that the site is being crawled and the webmaster tools provide information about the site. However, the site does not show up when I search for the URL. The site shows up Google, Yahoo, Altavista, AOL, etc. but does not show up in Live Search. Also, some of the entries in the website logs indicate that msnbot is trying to access pages and images that are not part of the site. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

  • Hi Jaheli,

Your home page is in our index: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=site%3Aweddingshowpiece.com&sourceid=Mozilla-search&form=CHROME. However, you are ranking extremely low. If you have not already done so, I suggest reading our ranking and indexing FAQs located at the top of those forums as well as our recent blog posts located at http://blogs.msdn.com/webmaster

  • Brett,

Thank you for your reply. I always thought that if I typed the full site name into the search box, ie. www.weddingshowpiece.com, I would always get the site in the set of results. That is what seems to happen on all the other search engines I have used.

There still seems to be some strange things that I cant explain. Why is it that if I use the search string: "site:www.weddingshowpiece.com" I get no result, however if I use "site:weddingshowpiece.com" I do get a result?  And, why is msnbot looking for those strange files on my site (according to the site logs)?

I guess the reason for the low rank is that it is fairly new and does not have sufficient 'back' links to boost its ratings. I will have a look at the link you provided to see if there is anything I can do to improve the rating.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards !
