Installing srs connector - win 2008 sp2 sql 2008 sp1 - Check ReportingAccountValidator : Failure: The ASP.NET service account is not valid RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having an issue installing srs connector in a new crm installtion.  This is the first time I've run into this, yet we have installin srs connector in similar environment many times before.

    Win 2008 SP2
    Sql 2008 SP1
    SRS
CRM 4 is on a separate server

CRM 4 runs fine and reports work ok, but srs connector won't install in the sql/srs box.

    09:31:55|Verbose| Calling BaseGroup.Validate
    09:31:55|   Info| Check ReportServerValidator: Success
09:31:56|  Error| Check ReportingAccountValidator : Failure: The ASP.NET service account is not valid.
    09:31:56|   Info| Check ConfigDatabaseExistsValidator: Success

Any suggestions on what to check?

    Thanks!!!!

  • Hi Alex,

in this case, you have to install the SRS Server.
Under which account runs the reporting service?

  • you only install the SSRS connector on the CRM box pointing to your SSRS server.Only if SSRS is not running on your crm server.
The connector is only used if the SSRS and CRM is not on the same box.

  • Hi Tiaan,

Yes.  In my case the crm is on a separate box.

    Server 1:  win 2008 sp 2+ crm 4
    Server 2:  win 2008 sp 2 + sql 2008 sp1 + srs <-- trying to install srs connecto here.

We have installed many installations with teh srs connector and this is the first time I've seen this error.  I think it is related to perhaps sql 2008 Sp2???

    thx,

  • I was able to resolve this issue by changing the Service Account for SSRS from Local Service to Network Service.
