VS 2010 & HPC Server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm developing SOA application on Visual Studio 2010 for HPC Server 2008 R2 Cluster. When I trying to run an application, that was created and successfully run on HPC Server 2008 (non R2), on new R2 Server it is fails.  During this job all scheduled tasks fail with this output result:

Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Encoder\EncoderService.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

Services and config files are deployed as it shown on MSDN:

(service EncoderService.dll is copied to each compute node locally, and conf file EncoderService.config is copied to ServiceRegistration folder) and permissions for everyone for this files are set to allow read & execute.

How can I run SOA application, developed by VS2010, on 2008 R2 Cluster?

  • Which version of .net framework are you compiling with? I'll suggest you to setup target .net framework to 3.5, since .net 4.0 is not installed on the cluster (2008 or R2).
