Live Mesh failing frequently recently with 00000000, 0 error codes?

Question

Hello.
I have been using Live Mesh for many months, almost a year now, in a network of XP downgrade computers. It has been perfect, works great as advertised. Recently (by this I mean in the last two weeks) the feature of connecting to the desktop from one computer to another has almost entirely stopped working. When I attempt to connect, I almost always get a "Failure to connect" dialog box, that cites the unlikely error code "00000000, 0". I have never seen this until about two weeks ago.
I have been through all the trouble shooting steps available on the help system. UAC issues seem to relate only to Vista, and these are all XP machines. I have rebooted each computer. They all used to always work flawlessly, and now it is the exception when I am able to connect. I have debugged my firewall -- there seem to be no firewall errors or blocks logged. And here is the odd part -- every once in a while, the connection to the remote desktop DOES work, but only rarely.
The Syncronization features of the files in the Live Mesh folders is still working, as far as I can tell, flawlessly.
Any thoughts as to what might be going wrong?
Any advice very welcome!
Yours truly,

Unfortunately, stephan, that error usually means that there is a server side problem.
Since Live Mesh is going away in its current form, and Live Sync Beta doesn't work on XP, you may need to bite the bullet and seek an alternative remote access and sync product. :-(
