MS Sync FX and SQLite, Firebird or MySql. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone.

I work with some ununsual databases like Firebird and SQLite and I am
developing a custom DbSyncProvider for  this databases but I am getting errors.

I am almost without hope to acomplish this. I have followed the documentation, follow the oracle provider sample
but with the others database the syncfx simply doesn´t work.

Someone has already developed successfully, the DbSyncProvider for firebird, mysql or sqlite?

    Thanks in advance.
    Sorry for my bad english.

  • 1. In general, SQLite should be equivalent to SQLCE and we have a SQL CE provider in the sync framework.
    2. One thing you can try is to see how command was bult for Orcale in the DbSyncProvider.  You can simulate the same command for each unusual database.
    3. Also you need to make sure that ADO.NET can execute well of all you implemented commands for these special flavored database.
    4. Try to exeucte them before doing sync so you may find some issues in other area.

DbSyncProvider may not work for all databases so it is good for you to have the custom ones.
