Black Screen on startup and validation errors RRS feed

    Hello, I've just recently built this new computer (second one i've ever built) and I've gotten a system builders copy of Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit from Newegg.com


    Now, I've managed to get it up and running enough to post this (in safe mode), but I've found that I cannot run Windows Vista normally due to after the green bar loadup screen i am hit with a black screen with no mouse, no keyboard control, no nothing.  I've attempted to update with windows, thinking this might be the problem, but nothing seems to be happening when i hit Windows Update in my start menu.


    I have also attempted to validate my version of Windows Vista Ultimate, however i seem to be having a validation error

    I will attempt to update the drivers for my motherboard and my video card, and hope for the best.

    Edit: I updated my mainboard drivers and my video card drivers, it appears to all be working now! Apparently you just can't validate in safe mode. Thank you anyway!

      It appears that you resolved the issue yourself and so I will mark this thread as Answered. But, if I have misunderstood, and you are still seeing a Validation or Activation issue, please create a new thread, with an updated Diagnostic Report, and I will see about troubleshooting the issue.
