Window 7 Build 7600 Not Genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a new ASUS computer, came factory with WIN7 Home Premium. I purchased a key online last month so that I could upgrade to WIN7 Ultimate so that I can use my PC for work as well. I performed a standard upgrade though windows, entered the key purchased, and have not had an issue since..

Automatic Updates were disable by the IT dept at my work, but I do not think that would be an issue.. And I do not know how to read all this stuff the Genuine Advantage tool .

I am sure this question has been asked many times, so I apologize in advance. Please advise the best way to quickly resolve the issue.

  • Unfortunately, the product key you have for Windows 7 Ultimate is a pirated not-for-resale MSDN subscription product key.  Contact the seller of the bogus key and demand a full refund.  If you wish to continue using Windows 7 Ultimate, you'll need to purchase a genuine Windows Anytime Upgrade: Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate and change the product key.

  • That is what I had feared. I already placed a claim with Paypal and escalated the claim due to fraud. Thank you for the confirmation.

It’s likely that PayPal won’t allow the claim for fraud – you need to make the claim for ‘not as offered’ instead (proof requirements are less).
