    Hello Lindsey290,

     

    Currently Windows is Genuine. The problem you’re experiencing is with the Cryptographic service on your computer. Cryptographic service is a standard service that runs under Windows XP and is used by Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) to read the Digital Signatures of files on the computer. If the Cryptographic service have errors (as seen in your Diagnostic Report "Validation Status: Cryptographic Errors Detected") WGA cannot Validate a Genuine status.

     

     There is a very easy fix for this. Open Internet Explorer and type the following website in for the URL: http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/ .  Once you open please click the “Start Diagnostic" button. Click the “Resolve Now” button if/when the tool finds any issues.  The tool will, most likely, resolve the issue on its own or will provide you further instructions.

    Next try this should the above fail: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798/en-us 

    Please follow the below steps manually for a resolve if the above has not resolved your issue.

    If this doesn’t work try the steps below to manually re-register the dlls:  (If this doesn’t work, please touch back with the forum again.)

     

    1.

    Click Start, and then click Run.

    2.

    In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.

    3.

    At the command prompt, type "regsvr32 softpub.dll", and then press ENTER.

    4.

    Click OK when you receive the message that DllRegisterServer in Softpub.dll succeeded.

    Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the following files: Wintrust.dll, Initpki.dll, Dssenh.dll, Rsaenh.dll, Gpkcsp.dll, Sccbase.dll, Slbcsp.dll, Mssip32.dll, and Cryptdlg.dll. Remember to put regsvr32 in front of all the .dll's in mention. ("regsvr32 wintrust.dll")

    5) After all the above files have been re-registered, type Exit at the command prompt to close it and return to Windows.

     

    6) Restart Windows and try to authenticate Windows again.
