Can I download OC on one machine and copy to another? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two computers - a laptop at work and a desktop at home. At work I have highspeed broadband. At home I have dial-up (I live in a remote area).

My home ISP restricts us to 4 hours online at a time. So far I have tried to install OC on my home machine about a dozen times, and each time I get somewhere between 85-98% of the way through the download and then of course my 4 hours is up!

I already have OC installed onto my laptop, but I would like to be able to somehow download another copy onto my laptop from work and then take it home and copy it onto my desktop. Is this at all possible?

  • Unfortunately it is not possible to do this. One Care is a "live download', that is, it begins to install as it is downloading. About all I can suggest is turning off all unnecessary programs while you are installing One Care. That might speed things up enough to finish installation.
