  • I'm also having the same issue.

This happened to me on a completely clean server install (did not save backups, formatted all drives and started completely clean).  After the install, I installed the latest chipset/motherboard/LAN drivers from Gigabyte, and the appropriate drivers for my PCI-Express SATA add-on card from Silicon Image.  After installing those I installed the connector client on my HP Notebook and performed a manual backup to assure that the backup service was generally working (backup succeeded).  After it completed, I logged into the WHS with RDC and got the windows updates, initially requesting all of them but IE7.  I got a similar failure log.  I then installed IE7, rebooted the server, and still have the failed update with KB941913.  Even though this update fails, my notebook continues to see successful backups.

This is a completely clean machine with an OEM OS that I installed from a store-bought DVD.

    My error log follows:

Just open a Remote Desktop window, type in your server name, and hit enter.  Once you get the logon screen type Administrator for the user name and the WHS console password for the password.
