Vista Validation Error 0x80070426

Question
-
Hi -
I purchased a new HP prestocked with Vista from Frys Electronics. After a month or two I started having validation issues and my system runs very slowly. See Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic report below.
The "validate now" code is 0x80070426.
I don't have any of the software listed as not compatible with Vista, and I followed the advice some other posters got regarding the Software Licensing service:
C:\>net start slsvc
The Software Licensing service is starting.
The Software Licensing service could not be started.
A system error has occurred.
System error 5 has occurred.
Access is denied.

Can you help? Thanks!
Kaia

Please try this: open an elevated command prompt (find Command Prompt in the start menu, right-click it and choose "Run as administrator") and type "net start slsvc" (and hit enter). Would you let me know what message you get when you try that?
It is important to run this from the elevated command prompt or it will fail. From you post it appears that you have already tried this but I wanted to verify it.
If this fails it is indicating that there is come corruption on the files on your computer and you will need to open a support case via the link below.
