OEM SLP Licenses are designed for use ONLY in the machines in which they are originally installed by the manufacturer - they cannot be installed in anything else.
For your purposes, you need to buy either a Full Retail package or (much riskier, as you cannot use it again elsewhere - say if you wanted to run in BootCamp instead) a full OEM System Builder pack.

  • I have also tried BOOTCAMP and got the same problem after 30days.

If this wont work on MAC, can I put it on my Windows Laptop?

  • NO, it is an OEM product that can only be installed onto the computer manufacturer's computer with the proper BIOS.  It can't be installed onto any other type of computer.  It is specific to one type of BIOS only and will never activate properly on any other computer.  Return for a refund is the only way to go.  You got the good information from Noel.

  • Your OEM SLP copy of Windows 7 Ultimate will never activate on a Mac running Parallels.  It will only activate on the computer it originally came with.  In order to install Windows 7 on a Mac running Parallels, you will need to purchase a genuine "Full Version", retail edition of Windows 7.  Example:  Windows 7 Ultimate – Full Version

You wrote, "I purchased this from a friend who bought it off MSDN."  Wrong, this product key is a Dell OEM SLP deployment product key for W7 Ultimate.

Your "friend" is the one that misrepresented the product (or did not know as much as they thought about the product), not Microsoft.

  • Ok, maybe I should of been there when we purchased it. cause he just ripped me off. probably gave me the Dell OEM SLP and used my money to purchase him a Real Retail copy of it. >B^[
