stolen computer on Live Mesh RRS feed

  • Question

  • My computer was stolen. I can see it on Live Mesh. In another question I saw you recommended the police call Microsoft to help locate the computer. Can you tell me the phone number at Microsoft that they should call?

  • I am not aware of any way that a PC can be recovered by using information in Live Mesh. However, if there would be, the law enforcement agencies apparently have the ability to contact Microsoft. I don't know what number they should call.

I'm sorry that your computer was stolen, but I am quite sure that Live Mesh information won't help recover it. What I'd do is go to www.mesh.com and set the folders to not Sync with the laptop. And, if you see the laptop online, you may want to try to connect to it via the remote desktop function and delete your personal files. of course, it the thief is online when you try to connect, they can block the connection.
