  • Not necessarily, unless you are planning to change career direction and become a Project Manager or SCRUM master.

If planning on staying a SQL Server Developer, I would recommend MCSA - Database Development:
MCSA SQL 2016 Database Development Certification

PMP or SCRUM certification certainly can't hurt, but it won't necessarily help someone become a better SQL Server Database Developer.

    Hope that helps,

  • Hi MLTC.

Both those certification could be an added value, even if SCRUM could be more related to more complex software development activities rather than those "simply" related to SQL Server development.

Thanks Phil, the reason I ask this as a need for SQL developer is because we as developers are misguided sometimes and we don't want to fall prey to someone else's mistakes .Being certified in development methodologies might help us mitigate risk and as you grow older in your technical professions you are required to have these insights or else I don't see any value  being the same old developer who will accept requirements as-is and work.

These days devops is making news ,so I am spoilt on choices -PMP or DEVOPS or SCRUM.
