  • Hi,
Certifications are like a glimmer on your CV, It's way to tell others that you know and having confidence in yourself and by others in you :) But let me tell you based on my personal experience, Certifications really make you stand out from crowd whether you are applying for jobs or it's a promotion time :)

Also I have posted some material on my blog

I think one must go for certification(s). Please feel free to discuss further.

  • Well, in order to obtain the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) designation, all you need to do is pass one of the many certifications that Microsoft offers.  Is there a specific area you're looking at?  i.e. server or desktop administration, programming, etc.?  You might want to check out the Microsoft Learning website (http://www.microsoft.com/Learning/)

And yes, having certain certifications will be of great benefit in getting a job - they add credibility to what you say you can do.

  • hi there,

As Charles posted, first of all find out what area you would like to get certified :)

And very important tip: Certificate is just an add-on to your skills/experience and it will never replace them. Keep it in mind when applying for job with a certificate and the employeer will ask you what exactly you know :)

    cheers,
    Ben

  • Hi,

is it possible for students or trainees to become an MCP (to become certified)?
Or is it a requirement to verify tier-1 or tier-2 level?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Chris,

Yes it is possible, all you have to do is pass one exam (well not ALL exams will give you MCP Status, the older gen tests give you MCP)

    Hope this helps.
