Your opinion (desktop - laptop - network drive) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey folks,

Looking for your conceptual advice on how best to set up a three way synch.  I have the following:

Desktop with XP pro and 32 bit SyncToy 2.0
Laptop with Vista Ultimate and 64 bit SyncToy 2.0
Network storage on a gigabit home network

I want to keep a directory structure synchronized between all three devices; how should I configure the peer relationship?  My first thought was to have each computer reference the network drive as with the computer having the left directory and the network drive being the right directory (In sync mode).

    What are your thoughts?

    Many thanks,

    Scott

  • Hi Scott -

Where do you do most of your work ? Your laptop or desktop? Assuming your laptop - I would setup two folder pairs with "Synchronize" - one folder pair between your laptop-desktop and another one between laptop and network storage.

    Thanks
