Should I upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007

If I upgrade from my Office 2003 Professiional to Office 2007 Professional. Is there any discounts from Microsoft, seeing that I paid over $249.00 for Office 2003 a few years ago. I want to stay genuine, but do not want to fork out such a large amount again for a software program. Why do we have to pay a large amount for an upgrade or newer version of Office.

Personally, I'd just wait for Office 2010 to be released.
