Data Error (cyclic redundancy check) errors RRS feed

  • Question

After the install of PP1 I'm getting the "Conflicts" error message.

When bringning up the detail, its telling me ther are CRC errors on about a dozen or so mp3 files.

Not sure how to resovle these. I can't even delete the files as WHS thinks they are still in use/open.

    Thanks in advance.

This helps to remove such conflicts

CRC errors are one potential sign of a failing hard drive (bad sectors).  You should try running chkdsk on each of your drives.

  • nope that's not the problem.
Come on... there has to be some sort of "fix" for this. It's driving me nuts.
Is there no-way to see what program is currently "accessing" these files so I can kill it and in turn delete them?

Can you pull CABs for us and submit a bug?  Instructions for using the WHS toolkit to obtain CABS can be found at the link below.  The bug report and CABS will help us determine what is happening with this machine.
