Cannot activate key, have proof of ownership, already phoned RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently re-installed my copy of Windows XP Pro x86bit, lately the key hasn't been working after a lot of re-activations via web and phone.

I decided to actually pursue my case this time instead of just dumping the OS altogether as I have before. I really like Win XP and I would like to continue to use it.

The key has been re-activated too many times apparently, it is ONLY on this PC. I phoned the help line twice (toll free, and toll 2nd hoping to get someone I could better understand) and the second time I called I received some information which included an email address.

I'm not sure if the e-mail address was properly copied by me but regardless I sent them the information and media required to re-activate my OS. However I have not yet received an answer from them or any sign that my product will be recognized.

The email address in question was, v-13ljos@mssupport.microsoft.com.
Any help on how to get my information to them would be welcome.

  • Hi. I had the same issue. I sent the e-mail to that same address and it came back undelivered. How do I change the key to be what the product id on the bottom is? I think the problem is that it doesn't match the OEM CD.

Please repost this in the appropriate XP Genuine forum
Having said that, The Key in use here is a widely-published ( and probably therefore blocked) key for XP Home Upgrade.
If you have a COA Sticker which is for XO Home, you could try using the Product Key Update Tool to change the key to the one on your sticker -
