Are there separate passwords for Windows Live and Windows Hotmail?

    Question

  • I want to change my Hotmail password but am very confused about all of the "Live" releases and what passwords I may have entered.

My worry is that if I change my password in Hotmail then others may have to be changed to maintain the continuity. eg... if I go into windows live and change my password, what does this affect. I will have to change my password in Outlook to correspond but does that block me getting into Windows Live or are they the same thing???
Is there a separate password for Live or Messenger?
Bleedin' heck Microsoft stop confusing the ____ out of us. Keep the basic email service and try and compete with the twitters and other stuff in a separate sharing module.
It appears that I am one of thousands disgruntled and confused hotmail users.

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to read and respond.
