Advice on becoming certified or not RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering if becoming certified while within college would be a smart move or not. I am interested in learning computer technologies but they do not directly relate to my major. For instance, I would was interested in the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS). To me it feels better to put that I passed the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification besides just listing on a resume, I have Microsoft Word skills.

I am having trouble finding information on what I should study for the exams. Is there a free way to figure out if this is something I could manage to study for? Or do I have to purchase something?

I believe I know some of the programs well already, but don't want to just sign up arrogantly and find out I don't.

  • Hello,

I would suggest you go ahead and prepare for MCAS certifications when you are studying. Best MCAS  Test Prep would be Certiprep from Certiport

  • I would start with the Microsoft Learning and Certification site - here is specifically that page for MCAS / MOS certifications: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mbc.aspx

  • There is not a ton of free info out there, but there are plenty of good companies out there that offer exam prep. Lots of free practice exams and stuff if you just Google it you will find the companies. Just make sure you go in prepared. You don't want to fail the tests and have to take them over again.

  • Hi everybody!

I need your help! I scheduled MCAS PowerPoint exam on next Friday. I am terrified with THIS particular exam! I passed Excel (2 weeks preparation), I passed Word (5 weeks preparation), I passed Outlook (I week preparation). I could not pass PowerPoint twice (6 weeks preparation as of today)! The practice test I tried befor the exam gave me the score 97%.

So, why I could not pass the PP exam? The problem is all these themes and styles and effects that do not have the names under, but show the names after the pointer touch it. This is disaster! The last time I searched for particular style or whatever 8 minuts. The names do not appear so fast over the pointer!

Why Microsoft does not write these style and others names? Or asks the questions of exam with the direction to the themes/styles like "first row third column"???

What can I do? I tried to memorize all this names and I could not!

    Please, please help!
