CRM 4.0 install in trusted domain. RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi Guys,

I am trying to install a CRM 4.0 in DOMAIN A while the SQL server is in DOMAIN B. There is a 1 way trust between the CRM server and the SQL server, but i cannot authenticate and install CRM. I know for a fact the trust is working because i can logon to the DOMAIN B exchange server using DOMAIN A login.

I get "Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."

Remote connections is enabled (that was the previous error i solved). Do i have to add somethign in SQL?

    Any help much appreciated.

  • The bad news is what you're trying to do is an unsupported configuration. Looking at v4.2.0 of the Planning Guide, page 4-59 on Supported Configurations states:

"The computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server and the computer that is running SQL Server, where the Microsoft Dynamics CRM databases are located, must be in the same Active Directory domain."
