CRM 2011 Fresh Installation Record Unavailable RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've installed CRM 2011 on two separate machines and have received the same results.  I use Network Service as the CRM service accounts and the SQL database is located on the same machine.  Do I need to grant Network Service rights to use the database?

I've configured myself as the Deployment administrator, rebooted the server.

This is the URL that it directs me to:

    http://crm2/_common/error/errorhandler.aspx?BackUri=&ErrorCode=0x80040354&Parm0=Microsoft.Crm.CrmConfigObjectNotFoundException%3a%20User%20Was%20Not%20Found%0d%0a%20%20%20at%20Microsoft.Crm.ServerLocatorService.GetDefaultOrganization%28String%20authenticationInfo%29%0d%0a%20%20%20at%20Microsoft.Crm.Authentication.WindowsAuthenticationProvider.QueryForOrganizationId%28String%20userToken%29&RequestUri=%2fdefault.aspx

The Asychronous service does not start automatically.  The results are the same when it is running and when it is not.

  • Next step: Event viewer - correct?  Well I have these events starting asynchronous processing service:

    Category Error

    Event  ID 17188

    Source: MSCRMPerfCounters

An error occured while loading performance counters.  counter Category: LocatorService.

    And then:

Information 17419 MSCRMAsyncService (Host CRM2: starting service MSCRMAsyncService)

    And then:

    Error 17410

    Source: MSCRMAsyncService

Blah blah blah Access to the temp directory is denied Identity "NT\Network service" under XML serializer running does not have sufficient priveledges to access temp directory.  blah blah blah "So if the user doesn't have access to system temp direcotry you will not be able to.."

So I went to %temp% and granted NT\Network service Full control

Then I went to c:\windows\temp and checked permissions.

    Then....

    I went to c:\windows\serviceprofiles\networkservice\appdata\local\temp

    granted Network Service Full control

started Asynchronous process and it stayed started.

CRM 2011 does come up, and I am able to import my 4.0 organization after this change.

  • Alright, plot thickens.  I realized that my services are not staying started either after I start them in services.  Microsoft Dynamics CRM Asynchronous Processings Service, (mainteance), and Sandbox Processing all are Network service accounts and in all instances of CRM installations fail to remain started.  I assumed this is a default installation method.  Can anyone tell me why my services won't remain running?

  • Do you still have the message "An error occured while loading performance counters.  counter Category: LocatorService."? I'm having the same message not with LocatorService  but with Platform, my CRM works fine but I keep getting these messages in Event Viewer and would like to fix it to avoid them.

    Best regards

  • I never intended this post to be regarding the performance counter event, and am not concerned with its appearance.  If you are having errors with your performance counters loading I would open a new post.  Have you attempted to consume performance counters using performance and reliability center?
