Azure HPC 2016 - In correct core count after updating the Azure VM Size to bigger size RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All

We are using HPC 2016 Azure Cluster with a headnode and 5 compute nodes.

I have updated the headnode to a bigger VM size (more cores) and the total no of cores for the cluster reflected correctly.

When I update the compute node (Azure VM) to a bigger VM size with more cores  , I am expecting the total cores for the cluster to be reflecting accordingly taking into count of the updated compute node cores. But to my surprise the total cores reflected is still the old no of cores with out taking into account of the increased core count of the compute node.

I took the both compute node and headnode offline and back online , but the Get-HpcClusterOverview is not reflecting the updated no of cores.

Am I missing something ? Thank you in advance and please help on this.

    Regards

    Ramesh

  • Sorry. Probably I have posted the question too early without waiting to see the outcome of my steps.

Restart the headnode and bring the compute node online did the trick.  Once after that I am able to see the core count reflected correctly.

    Thanks
