What certification comes with passing 70-432 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've just passed 70-432 and would like to know:

    a) Am I a certified professional now - is it an MCTS?

    b) If I want to study for the SQL 2012 exams now, can I use this exam and pass an upgrade exam? Is it recommended to study for 2012 SQL exams now rather than go down the 2008 MCITP route?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

First of all, congratulations on passing your 70-432! Here is my thoughts on your questions.

    1) Yes, you are now a MCP and MCTS.

    2) You need to pass 70-448 (Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance) to attain your MCSA SQL Server 2008 OR you can do an upgrade paper by taking the following papers.

    1. 70-457 : Transition Your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012, Part 1
    2. 70-458 : Transition Your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012, Part 2

After taking this upgrade paper, you will attain MCSA SQL Server 2012.

Take a look at this site. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcsa-sql-certification.aspx
