My dad's computer had a major problem, we can't figure out if was a virus or something to do with the hard drive, but in any case we had to get another hard drive. I partitioned it in two halfs and installed his OEM copy of windows on it. When I went to activate it, I had to call microsoft for the validation. The first time I called, one of the girls told me they were doing some maintance and to call back in a half hour. I called back an hour later and told the machine the product ID and it patched me to a real person who either hung up on me or I got disconected from. I called again about 5 mins later and did the same automated thing all over and got dissconected before I even got to a real person.
What is going on here? I don't understand why I keep getting dissconected.
Yes I was able to activate windows, 3 tries more and I finaly got somebody that didnt hang up or disconect me. I told him about the problems and he wrote them all down and passed them on. In any case thank you very much for your concern.
