CRM 4.0 RTM - Connector for SSRS Install RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    When installing the CRM 4.0 SSRS Connector on an SRS server separate from the CRM 4.0 Web and SQL server (three separate servers), during the System Requirements validation we are receiving the following failure for Environmental Checks:

    "Unable to validate SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server Installation. Please check that it is correctly installed on the local machine".

    On the SRS server, we are running SSRS w/SP2 and SQL 2005 server with a named instance (i.e. servername\RS). Since the installation is blowing up with trying to validate the SRS install I can only guess that this is due to the fact that SRS is installed under the instance instead of the default non-instance setup. Anyone else encoutered this? Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Regards-

    Anthony

  • We are running SQL 2005 Enterprise and MS CRM 4.0, not SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition and MS CRM 3.0. Please see the following KB that MS released late last week regarding the issue:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947060/en-us

    After manually configuring the install-config.xml, the SRS connector installed successfully.

  • A good solution is to use a config file in which you specify all the parameters . setup assumes that SRS is on the local machine...

    The setup is started with the following parameter :

    setupsrsdataconnector.exe /config <path of the config ex: c:\config.xml>

    the config file example is:

    <CRMSetup>
    <srsdataconnector>
     <configdbserver>SQLSERVER</configdbserver>
     <reportserverurl>REPORTSERVERURL</reportserverurl>
    </srsdataconnector>
    </CRMSetup>
