Hi Ersin,
just did the same (moved the databases to a new SQL server without reinstalling CRM 2011) and found out that the SQL server name is in the table [dbo].[Server] in the database [MSCRM_CONFIG]. So I updated the record containing the old name and Deployment Manager is now showing the new name.

Hi Ersin,
There is no official document yet, but the process is very similar to CRM 4. Basically back up your organisation databases, re-install, restore your organisation database to SQL and import the database using deployment manager. I've uploaded a video showing how to import a CRM 4 database to 2011. The process is the same for a 2011 database, so hopefully you'll find it useful.

Thank you Neil,
I used some steps from kb here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952934, strange thing is after moving sql server to diffrent server and making required changes, i still see the old sql server on deployment manger. Crm works fine, but i need to know that if something is wrong with moving sql server.

Hi Ersin,
I'm not sure why you would see the old SQL server on a new deployment. Did you move the MSCRM_Config database by any chance? You only need to move the organisation database as the new deployment will create a new mscrm_config.

Hi Neil,
I didnt change the location of MSCRM server, only moved sql server.
Ms crm works fine with new sql server, but shows old sql server on deployment manager.
