  • Does this web API need to be published over internet ? Can SharePoint Online access  On Premise (Corporate network) API for Oracle ERP  ? Because the customer will not publish the information like payroll outside due to security reason.

    Please advise.

  • If the ERP cannot be exposed in internet, you need to build a hub to transport the info.

    ERP - > Hub client - > Hub server - > SharePoint Online.

  • Could you please share any related article regarding this. Did you mean SharePoint Hub site  ?

  • No

I mean a hub application which is developed by your organization.

The application has client and servers.

The client can run in local with ERP, to fetch data from ERP.

The server is published on the internet, which can receive data from the client. And put update operations back to client.

  • Thanks. One more query. How we can fetch data from and to between server (published on the internet) and SharePoint Online ?  Can we use BCS ? or is there any modern method like webhooks etc
    Wednesday, November 14, 2018 9:38 AM
  • BCS can gather external data to SharePoint, which needs a supported data source.

It is the best and easiest way for your requirement.

I think about it over, no matter what way, we always need to access the ERP data from internet, even a client, which means there is always an internet interface for that.
