Using C++ to change the channel of a wireless adapter in monitor mode. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I don't know where to ask this question. Situation are like this:

Starting with Windows Vista, the driver for our wireless adapters allow us to switch our wireless adapter into monitor mode.

My final year project is all about wifi capturing. I am using Windows 7 and I had installed Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4. A utility named "nmwifi" in Microsoft Network Monitor installation directory let me switch my wireless network adapter into monitor mode and set the channel for capturing purpose. Since that utility from Microsoft can do it, I am sure there are function which can let me change the channel of my wireless adapter while in monitor mode.

On MSDN website, I can't find any C++ function that let me set the channel of my wireless adapter while in monitor mode. I can't even find any related function in Windows Driver Kit section on MSDN Library site.

Can someone please either suggest me the functions, or tell me which forum is suitable for asking this type of question?
