Restored laptop to original factory settings. XP Installed fine; will not accept product key on bottom of laptop.

Question

Was working with Carey Frisch but have not received any answers in over 3 days. I had to restore my work Dell laptop to original factory settings. XP Professional installed fine. However, when trying to use Word, Powerpoint, etc., it prompted me for the product key and would not accept the one listed on the label on the underside of the laptop. I have in my possession Office 2003 Standard Edition which my employer had purchased a few years ago for me to use on my home Emachine so I could work on documents at home. However, my emachine broke so they gave me this Dell laptop to use at home. I tried installing the Office 2003 Standard Edition, but it does not accept the product key which is listed on the disk box. Please advise.

The product key affixed to your Dell laptop is for Microsoft Windows and not Microsoft Office. You will need to contact someone at your company (IT Administrator) for a new Microsoft Office 2003 product key.

Carey -- The office is closed until Tuesday. Is there anyway you can pull up our product key which was on this computer? Below is the diagnostic report. Thanks.

Sorry, but I am not a Microsoft employee and therefore have no access whatsoever to product key inventory. If you need to use Microsoft Office immediately, download and install the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 60-day trial.
Note: You will first need to uninstall the following from your computer:
Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 104 Unknown PID
Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 - 101 Not ActivatedAlso, your Windows XP Professional installation must have Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed.
