windows 7 validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed a promo disk of windows 7 ultimate by mistake, i suppose. I had a replacement disk that came from Microsoft in the same envelope. I put in the product key affixed on the envelope and I tried to do the activation by phone: the computer did not have internet access. I received an error message that said I should contact the vendor of the software...

Question: If I delete the promo version from my computer and install the version from the replacement disk, would that solve the activation issue?

Question: To avoid a possible error again, is there a way to validate the product key before I proceed with the installation? Could I get another replacement disk, in case the one I have is no longer valid?

I would very much appreciate a prompt reply. Thank you, wherever you might be, and stay safe!

  • Hello my name is Elix. If you delete the promo version of windows from your computer or replace the disk, the activation problem will be solved. If you use the same activation key it will be OK, and no need to replace your disk. Thank you. Stay safe.
