Changing e-mail address for microsoft forums RRS feed

  • Question

  • Soon I will be closing my current log in e-mail account due to abuse. I have already opened a new hotmail account. I like to keep my present profile as it is with microsoft and windows live forums and just change my log in e-mail to my new e-mail. Tried doing this in 'my settings' page but it is getting garbled. How can I do this?

  • HI Floccina !

    I think you need to submit your request at Microsoft at below link;

    https://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/mailform/contactus.aspx?refurl=http%3a%2f%2fsocial.msdn.microsoft.com%2fForums%2fen-US%2fProfile%2fthread%2fddfb2508-3a9e-4f12-abab-e55e21d42086

Note : Here is a similar thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Profile/thread/c687fb5f-cf7d-4b7d-b59d-41b7112f4308 wih same issue.

You can't merge 2 accounts but i think you can change your Windows Live ID Asscociated with your profile. I am sure Sean will further help you in this.

Please let me know if this doesn’t work for you. Hope I have answered you correctly.

    Thanks,
    Hasham

  • Hi Melita,
Just a supplement of such issues,
I find in many pages on MSDN there is no Site Feedback link at the bottom of page.
So below is a more proper solution from Sean Jenkin for submitting your feedback:
"Click HERE and submit your information via our Site Feedback system. That way we can confirm who you are and reach out if we have any questions."

  • Hi

Have you solved your this issue?

As pan said you can use the "Site Feedback" on the bottom of the site. we can remove your pofile to your new Live ID. But one thing i have to say we couldn't merge your two profiles for now.

    Have a nice day!

  • Yes, I have solved it. A big 'thank you' to all of you. I was'nt looking to merge two profiles-only to change my log in WLID.  Mr. Pan Zhang did it for me in minutes. People like you guys make computer experience a pleasurable one!

  • Hello Mr. Pan Zang,

Yes, I noticed the absence of feed back link myself. So I have copied the address of this link from Sean Jenkin and saved it for future reference. Thank you for all the trouble. I wish a happy new year to all of you.

    Best regards too
