Gateway WLAN adapter gone after Xp 32 recovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • My old Gateway MX 3231 required a reload/recovery. Used the factory recovery disk but the WLAN adapter is now missing. installed SP3 without success. Loaded Win7 and it was there but PAINFULLY slow. Reloaded the original factory disk again and the WLAN adapter is once again, gone. Where do I go to resolve this? Gateway wants $100 just to talk - with no guarantee they can resolve the issue! HELP.

  • If you're asking about Windows XP you can try asking here.

(Also check the manufacturer chipset has been installed. The chipset allows the operating system to find and use devices integrated into the mother board)
