Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I am trying to create a new record through ISV Button it is giving following error

    Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101

    Previous to this I am getting following error

    null is! null is not an object and then

    Object doesn't support this property or method

    Thanks,

    Rajeev.

    I could see the problem here, actually I were assigning the null values to field before update which resulted in this error

    You can see the condition for checking the null.

    var

    entityToUpd = new BusinessEntity("EntityName");

    if

    (fieldLogicalName!=null

    )

    {

    entityToUpd.attributes[

    "LogicalName"

    ] = fieldLogicalName;

    }

    service.Update(entityToUpd);

  • Hi,

    Make sure that you are passing the all required field values and correct values.

  • Are you using a custom web service?  Posting the code would help us out a lot.

  • "Object doesn't support this property or method" means that you're referencing a member of an object that simply doesn't exist.  Often this is innocently done when referencing an element of an array, when the array itself doesn't exist.
