Having problems adding a 2nd computer to my circle (renewal) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried to add a 2nd computer to my circle (at renewal).

I had to delete the old Live ONeCare to be able to install it again..  NOW it asking me to pay another full $49.95... I already paid that on 6/5/06 on my main computer.  Need help in getting my 2nd and then my 3rd computer up and running... What should I do?

  • Go to billing - https://billing.microsoft.com/home.aspx and verify your subscription status. On the additional computers if you already have One Care installed open One Care and click the "Subscribe" button. When prompted to enter a Live ID use the Live ID associated with your subscription. Your subscription will be recognized and One Care will activate.

If you have not yet installed One Care use this link to download and install - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/addcomputerinstall.htm

  • If you have an active subscription, which is what was created when you activated on the first computer, you need to use the same LiveID on the subsequent activations. If you are arriving at a screen to purchase or provide a token, you are likely not using the same LiveID as the subscription ID.

On the first PC, open OneCare and click Help and then About to see your Subscription ID. That is the LiveID to sign in with.

If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

If you are using the same LiveID as on the first PC and you have confirmed that the subscription is active at the Billing site, but OneCare is still not able to be activated, please contact support.

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.
