Windows key saying it is upgrade when it isn't

Question
-
I am trying to reinstall my copy of windows because my motherboard SATA controller failed. I bought a Windows Home Premium 64-bit Full version and it is saying that it is an upgrade disk when it isn't. I have an upgrade disk as well so I know what the difference is. I replaced the motherboard and now when reinstalling I had to skip the product key to install initially, but now it is saying that I don't have the right version. How do I get this rectified?Tuesday, May 24, 2011 12:51 AM

Download and run the Genuine Diagnostics Tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012.
Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
Thank you!

My key does not even end with those last digits. I don't know if I asked for a new key after initial install or what. Can I use that key to reactivate my copy again?

Try using the original Windows 7 product key. See: Update your Windows product key

I can't. I tried the original, but it does not work. I wish it was as easy as just using the original. As you can see it shows my version is Windows Home Premium and not an upgrade. Please help.
Tuesday, May 24, 2011 2:13 AM -
When I try to use the original and then request an updated key it says that my version is an upgrade so it will not allow it. That is the problem.Tuesday, May 24, 2011 2:14 AM

Are you still there? I really need your help. Or is there a phone number I can use to contact someone?Tuesday, May 24, 2011 2:51 AM
