I no longer have Sys Admin support-- what are my options? (buy a new product key?)

That effectively means that you have no license to run Windows 7 (or so far as I can see, any other version of Windows)
You will have to purchase a new Full Retail license for Windows 7 from a legitimate source, and do a clean install with whatever version/edition you choose.
