I have a product key (disk no longer reads) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can I download a valid, spyware free, office enterprise 2007 from microsoft if I have a valid product key???  I won a valid copy with product key at a work raffle, recently I had to reformat due to a virus, but when trying to reinstall office, the disk is no longer readable, not too scratched, but for some reason both of my ROMs fail to read it.
    Any solutions?

  • Hello magicpretzel,

Having a valid product key does not necessarily mean you have a valid license to Office Enterprise 2007, which except for licenses granted under the Home Use Program, is a Volume Licensing product.

If you won a Home Use Program copy in the work raffle, then my first guess would be to try to receive customer service support from the company that Microsoft has contracted to handle the program, Digital River.  Here is a general FAQ link http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/faq.aspx  If I were you I'd skip the FAQ and go directly to the contact us link, and explain your situation:  https://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/contactus.aspx

If that does not work, what about asking coworkers who have also participated in the program if they can burn a copy of their disc for you, or download a copy of the installation file for you?

Or you can just bite the bullet for $9.95 and sign up for the program directly (yeah that sucks especially when you won the thing in a raffle, but seriously, for ten bucks why go thru the hassle? :-))  http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/home.aspx?culture=en-US
