External Web Farm FQDN same with External FQDN of Access Edge or Web Conferencing Edge RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

Has anyone here tried using the same external FQDN for the reverse proxy (external web farm URL) and the access edge role or the web conf edge role?

example #1 my externalwebfarmfqdn is sip.domain.com which is the same as my access edge role (sip.domain.com)?

    or

example #2, my externalwebfarmfqdn is webconf.domain.com which is the same as my web conf edge role (webconf.domain.com)?

    Will this work?

Anyways, assuming everything works fine from external or remote users (SIP and A/V conferencing)... except for the Live Meeting.

  • Hey Vince,

This won't fly. Your Access Edge and Web Conferencing Edge External FQDNs needs port 443 inbound and so does the External Web Farm FQDN so it won't work.

Typically you'd make your external web FQDN abs.domain.com or something like that.
