ConfAddins_Setup.exe Silent Installation Parameters? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are there parameters that can be passed to the installation setup for the Conferencing Add-in for Outlook (ConfAddins_Setup.exe) so that it will run silently?

I cannot find any documentation regarding possible input parameters, and running it with "/?" does not yield a list of parameter options.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I have done this in our environment.  You can extract the MSI from the EXE and simply run the msiexec command with the /qn switch..

  • Thank you for the solution, Tom.

I have extracted and will deploy the LMAddinPack.msi to our workstations.

I thought that perhaps there was a Live Meeting 2007 Add-In Deployment Guide available with more details, but I could not find it.....I only found the old guide for Live Meeting 2005:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=69021DDB-D8D0-4BD2-9551-9500C2E66521&displaylang=en

    A follow-up question for you:

Did you find that this Addin needed to be Enabled after installation as referenced in this KB Article?

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940782

If so, were you able to programatically Enable it or Enable it via Group Policy?

    Thanks again!

  • If I recall correctly you need to run ConfAddins_Setup.exe -out <Drive>:\<folder Path>. Let me know if that works for you

  • ConfAddins_Setup -out ConfAddins.msi

    - Run this command on the cmd prompt where you downloaded the ConfAddins_Setup.exe and it will create a folder on the same location and inside that folder is the .msi file

  • To install the Live Meeting Outlook Addin silently run the following command

    msiexec /i LMAddinPack.msi APPCONFLICT=IGNORE /qn!

msiexec /i - will install the msi

APPCONFLICT=IGNORE will suppress a message popup (stating Outlook is open) and igonores it

/qn! - shows progress bar without the "Cancel" button

The following also works for a silent uninstallation

    msiexec /x LMAddinPack.msi APPCONFLICT=IGNORE /qn!

    Only change is /x

    Hope this helps

  • Hi, I have tried this method after extracting the LMAddinPack.msi and I am still prompted to with the applications running. I have office communicator running on the machine.

Running LMAddinPack v.8.0.6362.62. Has anyone had the same issue?

  • We are deploying this and I keep getting an error.  I can't get any silent switch to work on the ConfAddins_Setup.exe.  I have WinRAR to extract any exe I've come across that can be...but for some reason, it's not working on this. Is there something that I'm missing?

  • Canuck44, I am having the same problems you describe (and same version number).  Were you ever able to resolve this issue?
