CRM 2011 implementation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our current environment

CRM 4.0 with one active directory OU dedicated for CRM 4.0(crm service account has the admin privilege on this OU).This OU is used to deploy CRM4.0 in the existing corporate active directory without admin privilege on entire AD.

Now we are migrating it to CRM 2011 in parallel to CRM 4.0.

    Clarification required are as below

1.can we deploy CRM 2011 without admin privilege on active directory.

2.incase if we deploy CRM 2011 on active directory and choosing OU which has been already used for CRM 4.0 any conflict occur?

3.how do we remove active directory object created by CRM 4.0 when we uninstall CRM 4.0

  • Hi Ganesh,

    1. Yes, you only need permissions to write to the OU in AD, because the account you run the setup needs to create the groups and manage it, you don't need global admin permissions.
    2. No conflict. New groups are created with new GUIDs (if a fresh install)
    3. Delete the groups, CRM only creates groups to manage authentication.

    Hope this helps.
