off topic - External drive missing RRS feed

    Hi, I had a SATA external drive installed and it was fine and working up until today and when I went to access some reports, the whole drive from my pc was missing.  I have looked everywhere on the system and it is gone. I turned the drive off, and plugged it into another port, turned it back on, rebooted the pc and still, it is not there.

    Can someone please help me?

    You're off topic for this forum, which is dedicated to Windows Live OneCare. You may want to try the Microsoft Public newsgroups here: http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/Default.aspx

    You may want to check under Administrative Tools - Disk management and see if the drive is shown. It may be a hardware failure on the external drive causing it to appear as an unformatted disk.
