remote access stopped RRS feed

  • Question

  • Remote access stopped working - have had some issues lately removing add-ins but don't know for sure event which caused remote access to stop working.

toolkit1.1 addin connectivity details report all OK (see below) also Server Remote Access setting "available".   The Details report from remote access settings reports all OK.

Unable to connect with browser when attempting to connect to https://servername.homeserver.com or by directly attempting web site IP address http://216.80.xxx.yyy reported by Domain Name Details.

Diagnose Connection Problems button from IE reports "Problems found resource (servername.homeserver.com is online but isn't responding Detected to connection attempts."

Same symptoms on Windows 7, Vista and XP pro systems within network.

At a loss ... any help would be appreciated.

Does it work from outside your LAN?

  • Yes it does,

Router is CISCO small business RVS4000 V1.3.1.0; server and several other client host with static IP addresses (things like TIVO, Printers, fax and phone modems, DISH PVR) other items DHCP.

I have checked port forwarding tools with positive results -  just inside LAN where I have issues with connection to https://servername.homeserver.com.

If it works from outside your LAN (which is what it's designed for), I wouldn't worry about whether it works from inside your LAN or not (you don't need it from inside your LAN, just open the shares directly).  FWIW, some routers have problems with loopback requests so that might be causing your problem.

  • Understand - it's just annoying receiving all those errors.  Are you suggesting that CICSO isn’t implementing loopback protocol correctly within their business product line?

Anyone know if the new release will address these issues – I saw similar issues with a different router back in the initial beta release.
