Prevent encryption of synchronized files? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I seem to remember in synctoy 2.0, I could setup a folder pair where the left folder was encrypted and the right folder was unencrypted.  I don't remember changing any settings, this is just how synctoy appeared to work.  Now, I can't seem to duplicate this with synctoy 2.1.  The only other issue I can think of is moving from WinXP Pro 32-bit to Win7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Is it possible to have synctoy remove the encryption or not encrypt the right folder?  Tried putting the right folder on a FAT32 drive, that just resulted in the entire sync failing.

  • I do not think SyncToy 2.0 has such function, help user remove encryption to those encrypted files. And SyncToy 2.1 dose not support this either.

  • Whether 2.0 supported it or not it does work (at least with the beta) and it no longer works with v2.1.  Is there a setting somewhere that would remove this file attribute when transferring the files?
