Which MCPD? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am looking at getting my MCT, but I am not sure of the path to take.  Since the VS 2010 certifications are now available, I have been leaning toward getting those; however, most of the training that I would likely be doing would be with MOCs associated with VS 2008.  So, my question is:  If I get my MCPD based on VS 2010, would I be able to teach VS 2008 MOCs once I am fully certified as an MCT?

  • Hi,

You are allowed to teach the tracks you are certified for. Strange as this may seem officially you are not allowed to teach earlier tracks. I can understand the opposite but i can not understand the downsize theory. So if you want to teach the 2008 mocs then certify in 2008 if you want to teach 2010 moc the certify in 2010.

In your case i would go for 2008 certification teach the 2008 moc and after you certify for 2008 go for the upgrade exam of 2010 and then you are still able to teach the 2008 moc's :-)
