CDRReporter configuration question RRS feed

    CDRReporter configuration question.

    How do we get CDRReporter configured and running for first time?

    There is an XML file called ArchivingCdrReporter_Config.XML with this information for initial config:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <config>
     <servername></servername>
     <dbname></dbname>

    What do we enter here for servername and dbname etc?

    Does this config file have to point to backend DB also, or just CDR box only?

    Also, does anyone know if this tool can be run remotely?

    There isn't much documentation on this tool to speak of.

    Thanks.

    Just start the application and click on 'Backend Details' from the toolbar.

    Enter the Backend Server\InstanceName: <servername>\<SQL instance name>

    (i.e servername\sqlexpress)

    ServerName is the actual name of the server you installed SQL Server on.

    and

    Database Name: <database name>

    (i.e. lcslog - this is the default name that gets installed when you run the Archive Server installation)

    Once you do this, it will populate the config.xml file.

  • Just for the sake of completeness here - Yes, it's possible to run this tool remotely. You'll need to run it with the right permissions though so it can access the CDR Database.
