Are both PCs connected to the same network locally or is one perhaps connected wirelessly and the other wired? It may take an hour or so to update status as long as both PCs are communicating with the OneCare servers.

Hi Denise,
Please note that the Onecare circle (and Hub) functionality does not currently provide the ability to share files between 2 PCs in a circle. So the unknown status issue is not going to impact your file sharing capability.
The usual cause of your laptop showing up unknown on the Hub PC (desktop) is because the 2 PCs havent been avle to talk to each other. This can be because either of them has not been connected to the Internet for over a few minutes in the past 7 days. If that is the case, please connect both the desktop and the laptop to the Internet and wait for an hour or so - if this still persists, please call support.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Mona

If you have an active subscription, which is what was created when you activated on the first computer, you need to use the same LiveID on the subsequent activations. You can't use the same key twice. If you are arriving at a screen to purchase or provide a token, you are likely not using the same LiveID as the subscription ID.
On the first PC, open OneCare and click Help and then About to see your Subscription ID. That is the LiveID to sign in with.
If you are unable to enter the correct LiveID during activation because the LiveID field is already filled, please see this post to fix that issue -
