  • Microsoft Visual Studio (.Net) Certifications:  http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab1

    ·         First Step - Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS):  http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2

    ·         Second Step – Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2

Currently you have multiple options: Visual Studio 2005 (.Net 2.0) or Visual Studio 2008 (.Net 3.5). Web Development, Windows Development etc. On a side note .Net 4.0 certification track coming soon.

    Good luck.

  • Hi Laxman,

In .NET there are two types of Certification

One is MCTS and Other one is MCPD

If you work/ Know  .NET 2.0 then you can go for MCTS and MCPD for .net framework 2.0(i.e Visual Studio 2005)

.NET 2.0 framework  has divided three types

        I)  Windows Developer ( MCTS/MCPD)
ii)  Web Developer (MCTS / MCPD)
        iii) Enterprise Application Developer(MCTS/MCPD)

    similarly

If you work/ Know  .NET 3.5 the you can go for MCTS and MCPD for .net framework 3.5 (i.e Visual Studio 2008)

.NET 3.5 framework  has divided three types

        I)  Windows Developer 3.5( MCTS/MCPD)
        ii)  ASP.NET Developer 3.5 (MCTS / MCPD)
        iii) Enterprise Application Developer 3.5r(MCTS/MCPD)

for more details you can check this link:

    for MCTS:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2

    for MCPD:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab3

If you have any doubt you can ask here. We are here.

  • Hi Manish,

I would recommend to open a new thread instead appending to an old thread which is marked as answered already.

I like to prepare with the SelPaced Training Kits - You can check http://oreilly.com and serach for 70-515 there. You will find the printed book and also the ebook. (Or you can order the book in your prefered book store of course!)

But in general, you can find all information required at:
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2 (Visual Studio Certifications)
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-515&locale=en-us (70-515 exam)
(There is a tab with preparation materials!)

When you want to take the exam, you should check http://prometric.com - there you can find the locations in your country where you can take the exam, the exact exam fee, what you need to bring with you to the exam and also the time you have for the exam.

    With kind regards,

    Konrad
